For Air routes, the most appropriate is Erzurum Airport. The Turkish Airlines have flights Istanbul- Erzurum everyday. Also many companies provide flights to Erzurum on daily basis.

With bus, Erzurum-Yusufeli is at 1.5 hours distance. From Yusufeli a 45 minutes trip will take you to Barhal.

This route is also valid for train.

For passengers choosing intercity bus route the companies, As Turizm, Lüks Artvin and Metro will take 22 hours for a trip from Istanbul to Artvin. At that point, a 3 hours trip will be required to come to Yusufeli.

For passengers choosing their own cars or intercity bus, it is advisable to choose the Erzurum Highway.

 

Also the minibus service from Yusufeli to Barhal can extend its route to Artvin or even Erzurum. Especially in summers due to high demand, it is possible to take this services from Erzurum or Artvin.
