Rafting became widespread with the help of raft. The boats invented by US army during WWII were used for landing purposes. The excess boats were sold and used in the rivers in the western USA.

 

 Rafting, born in USA, has a past of 60 years. But it became common in a very small period.

It took a lot for rafting to become common in Turkey. In 1990 the Coruh Festival announced the rafting term.

Coruh river and Barhal stream are important tracks for rafting in Turkey. Also they are praised by foreign rafting experts.
